Mathematics Report
Due to the importance attached to Mathematics with respect to career advancement and its special place in enabling Kenya achieve VISION 2030, this Department leads from the front. To achieve this onerous task, it is the prime motivation of department to establish the following in the shortest time possible and endeavour to sustain the effort throughout the Secondary School cycle:
- Encourage logical thought process in solving any given sum.
- Ingrain sufficient computational skills in the learner to enable them to approach any Examination with boldness and confidence.
- Instil and emphasize neatness and clarity of all presentations.
- Engage the learner in in-depth and thorough active research through broad consultations with peers in what is regarded as group work together with textbook exploration.
- Maximize the potential of the learner by solving as many sums as is practically possible.
- Enhance performance of all the other subjects through a multi-disciplinary approach.
- Prepare the candidates adequately for post secondary school studies.
- Emphasize orderly, sequential and systematic presentations that are consistent with all the basic and complex mathematical precepts.
- Develop and involve the learners in sharpening their scholastic acumen.
- Approach all situations with an inquisitive mind exploring all the possible avenues in which excellence is attained.
Student motivation on matters pertaining to Mathematics is superb due to the correct attitude we are nurturing, developing and enhancing right from Form One.
