Tree planting and Seed balling along Kambu River
It was on Saturday, unusual weekend, when we all converged at Kambu River for the very noble task of tree planting and seed balling as mitigation measures for climate change. The key players were: -
1) Minister for Health Makueni County.
2) MCAs Mtito Andei and Thange Wards.
3) Inspector of Police Kambu Police Post.
4) Chief Thange Ward.
5) Kibwezi Well Wishers Highway Chapter.
6) Local Community.
7) Molemuni Girls High School Family.
Tree planting is one of the simplest and most effective ways of tackling climate change caused by greenhouse gas. As trees grow they absorb carbon dioxide (CO2), a major greenhouse gas in the atmosphere. When communities plant trees they can help to reduce the impacts of climate change in their local area and around the world.
